The Chats
Meet The Chats, an Australian rock band that's making waves with their garage punk and pub-pop tunes! This group consists of three cool dudes from the Sunshine Coast:
- Josh Price, also known as Chillai, is the band's lead guitarist and backup vocalist.
- Matthew Boggis, or KO, rocks out on the drums.
- Eamon Sandwith, who's simply called Eamon, does the lead vocals and plays the bass guitar.
These guys started jamming together way back in high school in 2016. They got their name from a group chat they had on their phones. The Chats didn't take themselves too seriously at first, but they've come a long way!
Here's the scoop on their music:
- Their sound is a mix of garage punk and pub-pop, which is like a fun combination of rock and catchy beats that are perfect for singing along.
- Their breakout hit, "Smoko," released in 2017, put them on the map with lyrics that poked fun at the average Aussie bloke's life. It's a real blast to listen to.
- The Chats have released two full-length albums so far: "High Risk Behaviour" in 2020 and "Get Fucked" in 2022. And guess what? Both landed in Australia's Top Ten Albums chart!
These guys have also hit the road for numerous tours across Australia, and they've even taken their show overseas, playing in places like the United States, England, and Canada. Their live shows are described as loads of fun because the band is known for interacting with fans, sometimes even inviting them up on stage!
Although they started as a bit of a joke, The Chats grew into a band that resonates with a global audience. They've received accolades for their originality and unpretentious style. Their fun-loving attitude and humorous approach to life and music have earned them a special place in the hearts of their fans.
So, the next time you're in the mood for some rocking tunes spiced with a healthy dose of laid-back Australian humor, give The Chats a listen. You'll probably be chatting about them with your mates in no time!
