Story of the Year
Story of the Year is an American rock band hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, formed in 1995. Initially known as Big Blue Monkey, they changed their name in 2002. The group consists of Dan Marsala (vocals), Ryan Phillips (lead guitar), Philip Sneed (bass, backing vocals), and Josh Wills (drums).
They achieved mainstream success with their debut album "Page Avenue" in 2003, released under Maverick Records. The album produced the hit single "Until The Day I Die," which catapulted them to stardom. Their energetic performances, combined with a blend of melodic punk and emo influences, resonated with fans worldwide.
Story of the Year followed up with "In the Wake of Determination" in 2005, "The Black Swan" in 2008, and "The Constant" in 2010, further solidifying their place in the rock scene. They are praised for their dynamic sound, ranging from heavy, aggressive tracks to softer, more melodic tunes.
After a hiatus, the band returned in 2017 with a crowdfunding campaign for their fifth studio album, "Wolves," which was independently released in December of the same year.
