Skillet
Skillet is an American Christian rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. The band currently consists of husband and wife John (lead vocals, bass) and Korey Cooper (rhythm guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), along with Jen Ledger (drums, vocals) and Seth Morrison (lead guitar).
Skillet's music style is a fusion of rock, heavy metal, and alternative. They have been recognized for their vast stylistic range, dynamic performances, and lyrical depth. The band has released ten albums, with two, "Collide" and "Comatose", receiving Grammy nominations.
The band's breakthrough came with their 2003 album "Collide" which caught the attention of mainstream music scene. However, it was their 2006 album "Comatose" that solidified their status, with hits like 'Rebirthing' and 'The Last Night'.
Skillet's 2009 album "Awake" had certified platinum sales, producing chart-topping singles such as 'Monster' and 'Hero'. Their 2013 album "Rise" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Despite their Christian roots, Skillet's music appeals to a broad audience, transcending religious and secular lines. They are known for their energetic live shows and have toured extensively worldwide. Skillet remains one of the most successful and enduring rock bands of the 21st century.
