Whiskey Myers
Whiskey Myers is an American Southern rock/country group from Palestine, Texas, formed in 2007. The band consists of Cody Cannon (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), John Jeffers (lead guitar, slide guitar, lap steel, banjo, and backing vocals), Cody Tate (rhythm guitar), Jeff Hogg (drums), Jamey Gleaves (bass), and Tony Kent (percussion/cowbell).
Their music is a fusion of Southern rock, Red Dirt, and country, often described as "raw, powerful, and visceral," with influences from Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, and Hank Williams Jr.
The band's debut album, "Road of Life," was released in 2008, followed by "Firewater" in 2011, which topped the iTunes country chart. Their third album, "Early Morning Shakes," was released in 2014 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
Whiskey Myers achieved mainstream success with their self-titled fourth album in 2019, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart. The album was entirely self-produced, showcasing the band's multi-faceted musical capabilities.
The band's music also gained recognition through the TV show "Yellowstone," which used several of their songs, including the popular "Stone." Despite their success, the band remains true to their roots, delivering music that reflects their blue-collar origins and Southern heritage.
