The War And Treaty is a dynamic duo formed by the husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter. Michael Trotter Jr.'s journey into music began in an unexpected place: while serving in the Iraq War, he discovered his talent for songwriting on a piano in one of Saddam Hussein's palaces. Tanya Trotter, on the other hand, had been pursuing a career in music from a young age, showcasing her powerful voice in various venues across the United States.

The two met at a festival in 2010, and their personal and musical chemistry was undeniable. They married in 2010 and started performing together, initially under the name "Trotter & Blount" before eventually becoming "The War And Treaty." Their debut album, "Down to the River," was released in 2017, followed by "Healing Tide" in 2018, which further solidified their place in the music world. Their compelling performances and the authenticity of their music have earned them a loyal fan base and critical acclaim, including nominations and awards from various music institutions.
