The Dismemberment Plan
Meet The Dismemberment Plan – an awesome band that rocked our world with their unique sound! This group from Washington, DC started making music together back in the late '90s. Their story is all about friendship, creativity, and finding your own groove.
Travis Morrison (vocals & guitar), Eric Axelson (bass), Jason Caddell (guitar), and Joe Easley (drums) were just regular folks who loved playing tunes when they formed this cool quartet. They didn't know it at first, but soon enough, people would be dancing to their catchy songs everywhere.
Influenced by indie-rock bands like Fugazi and Pavement, as well as genres ranging from punk to funk, The Dismemberment Plan created something special. With Travis' quirky lyrics and passionate vocals, paired up with energetic rhythms and melodies crafted by his talented friends, these guys made us move and think simultaneously.
Some of their most popular tracks include "You Are Invited," "What Do You Want Me To Say?", and "OK Jokes Over." These hits helped them gain fans across America during tours alongside other great acts such as Death Cab For Cutie or Braid. In fact, one album called Emergency & I became quite famous among college radio stations around the country.
After releasing several albums throughout the early 2000s, life took its course; members pursued different paths while still cherishing memories of jamming out on stage. But guess what? After almost ten years apart, The Dismemberment Plan reunited in 2015 to play some shows again—and we couldn’t have been happier! It was clear those old friendships hadn't faded away.
So there you go — meet The Dismemberment Plan, four pals whose infectious energy brought joy through unforgettable sounds over two decades ago... And even though time passed since then, whenever someone puts on one of their records today, magic happens once more. That's why we love them so much!
