The band's original lineup consisted of Mike Hranica (vocals, additional guitar), Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, vocals), Andy Trick (bass), and Daniel Williams (drums). The group was named after the novel, not intending to imply any high-fashion associations. Their music is characterized by a fusion of heavy metal and melodic hardcore.
The Devil Wears Prada's first album, "Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord," was released in 2006, followed by "Plagues" in 2007, which reached 57 on the Billboard 200. The band's third album, "With Roots Above and Branches Below," was released in 2009, achieving even greater commercial success. The band continued to evolve their sound with albums like "Dead Throne" (2011), "8:18" (2013), and "Transit Blues" (2016).
