Tank
'Tank' is an influential British heavy metal band formed in 1980. The group was initiated by Algy Ward, a former member of 'The Damned', who brought together Peter Brabbs, Mick Tucker, and himself to create a unique sound that would leave a lasting impact on the heavy metal genre.
Tank’s early music was often compared to Motörhead due to their fast, aggressive style. Their debut album, "Filth Hounds of Hades", released in 1982, is considered a classic in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. It showcased the band's raw energy and established them as a force in the metal scene.
Over the years, the band underwent several lineup changes but continued to produce music and perform. Despite the changes, Ward remained the constant member until his departure in 2008. Post Ward's exit, Tucker and Evans decided to continue under the 'Tank' name, recruiting new members to keep the band's legacy alive.
Tank's discography is extensive, including eleven studio albums, four live albums, and several compilers and EPs. Their music continues to inspire and influence heavy metal bands globally, and they remain a significant figure in the British heavy metal scene.
