Slaughter to Prevail
'Slaughter to Prevail' is a Russian deathcore band that has made significant strides in the global metal scene. Formed in 2014, the band was the brainchild of vocalist Alex Shikolai, known for his distinctive growling vocals, and guitarist Jack Simmons.
The band's debut single, "Hell," was released in 2014 and quickly gained attention for its heavy sound and Shikolai's unique vocals. Slaughter to Prevail's first EP, "Chapters of Misery," was released in 2015 and reissued in 2016 under the Sumerian Records label, marking their first international record deal.
Their debut full-length album, "Misery Sermon," was released in 2017, further cementing their reputation for delivering brutal and technically proficient deathcore. The band is also known for their intense live performances, characterized by high-energy shows and Shikolai's signature mask.
Slaughter to Prevail's sound is heavily influenced by the extreme metal subgenres of deathcore and death metal, with elements of black metal and hardcore. Their lyrics often explore themes of violence, nihilism, and existentialism, reflecting the harsh realities of life in modern Russia. Despite the dark themes, the band has amassed a dedicated fanbase worldwide, proving that their brand of heavy music transcends cultural and language barriers.
