Neck Deep is a British pop-punk band formed in 2012 in Wrexham, Wales. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Ben Barlow, lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts, rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington, and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. The band gained significant attention with their debut EP, "Rain in July," which led to a contract with Hopeless Records.
In 2013, they released their second EP, "A History of Bad Decisions", which further solidified their standing in the pop-punk scene. Their first full-length album, "Wishful Thinking," was released in 2014, followed by "Life’s Not Out to Get You" in 2015, which was a critical and commercial success.
In 2016, Roberts left the band due to personal issues and was replaced by Sam Bowden. Thorpe-Evans left in 2018 and was replaced by Seb Barlow, Ben's brother. Despite these changes, the band continued to thrive, releasing the albums "The Peace and the Panic" in 2017 and "All Distortions Are Intentional" in 2020.
Neck Deep's music is characterized by energetic performances, catchy hooks, and deeply personal lyrics. They have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer in 2014, and have played at major festivals worldwide, cementing their place in modern pop-punk history.
