Morgan Wallen

Morgan Cole Wallen is an American country singer-songwriter born on May 13, 1993, in Sneedville, Tennessee. He grew up with his parents Tommy and Lesli Wallen and older sister Ashley Aldean. His father was a Baptist preacher who played guitar and sang at church services while his mother worked as a teacher.

Wallen started playing piano when he was five years old but switched to guitar after hearing Eric Church perform "How Bout You" during high school. Influenced by artists like Chase Rice, Florida Georgia Line, and Jake Owen, he began writing songs and performing locally before moving to Nashville in 2015 to pursue a career in music.

His first break came when he co-wrote Chris Stapleton's hit single "Up All Night," which reached number one on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. Later that year, Wallen signed a publishing deal with Big Loud Shirt Publishing and released his debut EP, Stand Alone. This led to him opening for artists such as Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line.

In 2017, Wallen joined forces with producer Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line) to work on his full-length album If I Know Me. The record included successful singles like "The Way I Talk", "Whiskey Glasses", and "Chasin' You", earning him widespread recognition within the country music scene.

However, Wallen faced controversy in early 2021 when a video surfaced of him using a racial slur outside his home in Nashville. As a result, multiple radio stations removed his music from rotation, and his label suspended him indefinitely. Despite this setback, Wallen apologized publicly and focused on personal growth.

By late 2021, Wallen returned to the spotlight with his sophomore album Dangerous: The Double Album. It became the best-selling country album of 2021 and earned him several award nominations. Throughout his career, Wallen has been praised for his authenticity and ability to connect with fans through relatable lyrics about love, heartbreak, and life experiences.
