Mario Dewar Barrett, known mononymously as Mario, is an acclaimed American singer, songwriter, actor, and model. Born on August 27, 1986, in Baltimore, Maryland, Mario began his music career at a young age, signing to J Records at just 15 years old.
Mario's self-titled debut album, released in 2002, featured the hit single "Just a Friend 2002," a modern rendition of Biz Markie's 1989 hit. The album was a commercial success, establishing Mario as a fresh talent in the R&B genre.
