KALEO
KALEO is an Icelandic blues/rock band established in 2012 in Mosfellsbær, near Reykjavik. The band consists of four members: Jökull Júlíusson (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Davíð Antonsson (drums, backing vocals), Daníel Ægir Kristjánsson (bass guitar), and Rubin Pollock (lead guitar, backing vocals). The name 'KALEO' means 'the sound' in Hawaiian, reflecting the band's diverse musical influences that blend traditional blues, folk, and rock.
KALEO gained significant recognition in 2013 for their hit single "Vor í Vaglaskógi", which was a success on Icelandic radio. The band's international breakthrough came in 2015 with their song "Way Down We Go", which topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart and was featured in numerous television shows, commercials, and films.
In 2016, KALEO released their second studio album, "A/B", which further solidified their global appeal. The album showcased the band's versatility, with a mix of heavy, guitar-driven rock tracks and softer, soulful ballads. The band's music often reflects their Icelandic roots, with lyrics inspired by the country's stunning landscapes and rich history.
