Fleshwater is a Boston-based rock band known for blending a mix of alternative metal, post-hardcore, shoegaze, and soft grunge. They've been making music since 2017 under the Closed Casket Activities label. The group started as a spinoff from Vein.fm and includes members Marisa Shirar and Anthony DiDio, with Jeremy Martin on bass.
The band first caught ears in 2017 when DiDio and original drummer Matt Wood penned three songs that would set their sound. They hit the scene in 2019 with their track "Linda Claire," showcasing Shirar's vocals, and the song became an instant hit. Their debut EP, "demo2020," followed, featuring the popular track and earning them a dedicated fanbase.
With the single "Kiss the Ladder" in 2022, Fleshwater announced their first full album, "We're Not Here to Be Loved," to positive reviews. They've since toured the US, supporting bands like No Pressure, and released the EP "Sounds of Grieving" in late 2023, a remix of tracks from their debut album.
Fleshwater's sound is a nod to the '90s and early 2000s rock, fusing elements of different genres into a unique mix that resonates with fans of the era and beyond. Their rise in the rock scene shows a blend of nostalgic influences and fresh energy, making waves with their distinctive style.
