Durand Jones & The Indications is an American soul music group originating from Bloomington, Indiana. The group was formed in 2012 while its members were attending Indiana University. It consists of vocalist Durand Jones, drummer and vocalist Aaron Frazer, guitarist Blake Rhein, bassist Kyle Houpt, and keyboardist Steve Okonski.
Durand Jones, originally from Louisiana, came to Indiana University for postgraduate studies intending to become a classical saxophonist. However, his peers convinced him to front their soul band, leading to the formation of Durand Jones & The Indications.
The group's self-titled debut album was released in 2016, garnering attention for its vintage soul sound. Their sophomore album "American Love Call," released in 2019, fully established them as a force in the modern soul scene, known for their heartfelt lyrics and smooth harmonies. The album includes the hit "Morning in America," a poignant commentary on the state of the nation.
