Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995. The band includes Claudio Sanchez (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards), Travis Stever (guitars, backing vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards, backing vocals), and Zach Cooper (bass, backing vocals). They are known for their concept albums, which tell a science fiction storyline called The Amory Wars, a series created by Sanchez.
The band's music incorporates elements of progressive rock, punk rock, heavy metal and post-hardcore. They released their debut album, "The Second Stage Turbine Blade," in 2002. Their breakthrough came with their second album, "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3," in 2003, which included the hit single "A Favor House Atlantic." Their third album, "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness," went gold and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.
Coheed and Cambria continued to release albums throughout the years, including "Year of the Black Rainbow," "The Afterman," and "The Unheavenly Creatures," all of which further developed their unique sound and continued the complex narrative of The Amory Wars. Despite changes in the band's lineup and shifts in the music industry, Coheed and Cambria have maintained a dedicated fanbase and continue to tour and record.
