Black Pumas

Black Pumas is an American psychedelic soul band based in Austin, Texas, formed in 2017. The group is a collaboration between singer/songwriter Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada. Their sound is a blend of soul, funk, rock, and psychedelia, a concoction that has earned them critical acclaim and a fervent fanbase.

Eric Burton, originally from the San Fernando Valley, moved to Austin, where he started busking on the streets. His dynamic voice and charismatic performances caught the attention of many, including Grammy-winning artist and producer Adrian Quesada. Quesada, already a prominent figure in the Austin music scene, was searching for a vocalist for new musical tracks he had recorded. Upon hearing Burton's voice, he knew he had found the perfect match, and thus, Black Pumas was born.

The band released their self-titled debut album in 2019, which was met with widespread acclaim. The album showcased their ability to craft soul-stirring melodies, wrapped in the warmth of vintage soundscapes. Their single "Colors" became a standout track, celebrated for its emotive lyrics and vibrant instrumentation, capturing the essence of their sound.
